Predefined styles:
- 1.2.3 – Digits without trailing dot
- 1.2.3. – Digits with trailing dot
- a.b.c – Lowercase letters
- A.B.C – Uppercase letters
- i.ii.ii – Lowercase roman
- I.II.III – Uppercase roman
- 1) a) i) – Changing style followed by a trailing parenthesis
The heading numbering relies on the document structure to identify headings of level 1 through 6, and number them according to their level.

Page Sizer is a utility allowing you to specify custom page sizes in Google Docs. Sizes may be specified in points, inches, or millimeters.
4. Search & Navigate

Use this add-on to quickly find and navigate to any part of your document. Search in text, headings, bookmarks, images, and tables.
This simple add-on helps you quickly find and navigate to the necessary part of your document.
Once you open the sidebar, you can switch between the list of headings, bookmarks, images, tables, and search results. Enter a key word in the search field at the top to see all its entries in your document. A click on any entry in the list will take you to the paragraph you need to see.
- Browse your document using your table of contents and jump to any heading. Use this tab to see search results in context.
- Create a guide through the text with the help of bookmarks. Manage them all in the add-on sidebar: here you can create, delete, name them, or get the links in just one click.
- See the list of all images and tables with their titles.
- Advanced search options let you quickly locate any content and search in text, bookmarks, images, tables, and headings at once. Enter any word or phrase in the search field to see all paragraphs that contain it and click on any result to see it in your text.
This add-on is a great assistant that provides both: an overview and a very detailed look at every section of your document.
5. SetImageSize

This Add-on makes it possible to precisely control the width & height of images in Google docs. It currently only works with ‘In line’ images. I’m waiting for feedback by the Google API team to make it also work with ‘Wrap text’ and ‘Break text’.
Use the menu Add-ons->SetImageSize. “Set image height” and “Set image width” have shortcuts that respect image aspect ratio. “Show sidebar” gives you more options, including pixel/inch/cm units and setting width & height independently. You get use “Get image size” (I have not found a way to do that when you select the image.) You can also edit the shortcuts for width & height (which will respect aspect ratio).
If you get the error "ScriptError: Authorization is required to perform that action." then maybe you are logged into your browser with multiple accounts and Google script doesn't like that.
